Upper Makefield Township

Board Welcomes John Silvers and Tom Cino

John Silvers and Tom Cino are the newest additions to Upper Makefield’s Board of Supervisors. Both supervisors were elected to 6-year terms and sworn into office at the Jan. 4 reorganization meeting. The Board of Supervisors elected Dave Kulig as chairman, Bud Baldwin as vice chairman, and John Silvers as treasurer.

Following the meeting, Chairman Dave Kulig discussed successes and accomplishments of 2009, goals for 2010, and challenges the Board of Supervisors are ready to devote resources to.

“Beyond the normal township business, in 2010, we plan to focus our energy on the uncertain future of the Washington Crossing Historic Park, the need for irrigation water at the VA cemetery, implement phase II of the Stoopville Road Improvement Project, and work on other large residential land development projects,” said Kulig.

Accomplishments in 2009:

  • Washington Crossing Streetscape Project
  • Dedication of the Washington Crossing National Cemetery
  • Reorganization of the township police department
  • Launching a fully upgraded township website

Additionally, newly appointed tax collector, Nicholas Ettorre and elected auditor, Guy Polhemus were sworn in at the reorganization meeting.

The next meeting will be held at the township municipal building on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
